Change is Inevitable, 2021-2022, is a delicate wall-mounted altarpiece whose three panels incrementally reveal the layered storytelling that has become emblematic of Pierre’s larger scale paintings. On the exterior panels, dayglo celestial forms guard the innermost scene of the triptych. Once the arc is thrown open, it reveals Pierre’s protagonist wielding a glowing sword. In a fit of passion, she pierces the wing of a seraph with her sword.

A mini altarpiece ablaze with intimacy, as the protagonist pierces through a celestial being's silver wings. The scene is encompassed by other winged beings watching from the shadows, acting as witnesses to this moment of sacrifice. Though pain is part of the atmosphere, the space between the protagonist's face and her willing sacrifice's face is full of love, understanding, and trust.
