In Written in the Sky, 2022, Pierre reimagines the high altarpiece by adorning it with personal iconography. Pierre places her protagonist at the center of the triptych in a powerful stance with arms and legs outstretched, taking up as much space as possible. Glowing from within, she stands on the heads of two winged cherubim who send her flying towards the viewer with a black snake held aloft. The altarpiece unfolds in gradients of red, a formidable color within Pierreās universe. This swirling gradient of vibrant hues signifies change and transformation, and for each of the beings that populate this undulating scene, it is an altar to power, endurance, and self-actualization.Exhibitions
