Swirling upwards from this figure are interlocking spirals of collaged eyes, hands, newsprint, leaves, and hand-painted bullseyes. One collaged headline simply reads “Heart Trouble.” Tomaselli has long been interested in ideas of Utopianism and its discontents. Here, Tomaselli’s bird motif references issues of climate crises and extinction, depicting the beauty of nature under threat.Exhibitions
