Spencer was inspired by and thinking about this book by Emily Noyes Vanderpoel called Color Problems: A Practical Manual for the Lay Student of Color. The artist has created a suite of Color Notes from each of the four seasons. This suite of 25 watercolors represents colors observed in Autumn of 2019.
