All of the paintings in this special presentation are part of Ore-Giron’s ongoing Infinite Regress series. Within these works, the artist’s totemic visual language is subject to an ongoing process of reformulation.
-
Painting with highly-pigmented flashe on raw brown linen, Ore-Giron’s abstractions recall religious iconography, sacred landscapes, and celestial bodies. With simple shapes that shift in and out of graphic fields of gold, the paintings in this series are each a variation on the one that came before, suggesting a trajectory of future iterations.
-
Ore-Giron combines motifs and symbols drawn from sources that span geographies and time— from the stylized geometry of Incan jewelry to Brazilian Neo-Concretism, Italian Futurism, and the spatial arrangements of Russian Suprematism—to create a visual language that is uniquely his own.

Miranda Lash, Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, writes: “Ore-Giron seems to instinctively understand that culture is a constant absorption of multitudinous influences that can at any moment virally replicate in new directions, resulting in combinations never seen before. This is an iterative and generative approach to history - iterative because themes often repeat themselves, yet in that process of repetition, there is inevitably a reshuffling and creation of new forms.”
